These "earthworks" were created by and artist names Stan Herd. He uses large pieces of land in Salina, Kansas to create pictures by cutting and coloring the plants on the ground. His latest piece was a 1.2 acre Van Gogh inspired picture in Minneapolis. I really like his use of nature to create such detailed pictures and the idea is really unique. He uses natural tones to create these elaborate designs and it looks like it requires a lot of trial/error and patience, which is not something I think I would be very good at. I really admire him for this and I was intrigued when I first noticed his pieces.
